Font of the week

This week’s font is an oldtimer. It was designed in 1953 by Swiss designer Hermann Eidenbenz. The font in question is very close to my heart and although I rarely get to use it I still love it. The font in question is Clarendon, you probably know it from newspapers and such, but you might not be familiar with the Clarendon Light which isn’t used that often. This font has such an elegance to it but at the same time it’s so strong and sturdy. I think if you say something with Clarendon, you really mean it :-) Look at the caps and the numbers which are particularly beautiful, the R is fantastic!

Buy Clarendon at Linotype.

I could not agree more, Clarendon is fantastic. I really love it, although like you i have actually never used it. Shame on me.
