In my post New York depression I forgot to post about one of the most fantastic things I saw there. At the groundfloor of MOMA you will find a fantastic installation piece by Chinese artist Song Dong. The piece called “Waste not” was a collaboration with his mother after his father’s tragic death, she collected everything she used in the 50s, 60s and 70s. The piece is really beautiful but is also a great comment on the wastefulness of the modern society. Seen from above it is an intricate colourful pattern and up close a look into something very personal.
Read more about the project in the artist book at the bottom of this page.
