I posted Coralie about a year ago here on Inspiration Lab but since then she has updated her website with lots more of her fantastic bookjacket design. I am still so in love with her timeless clothbound design for Penguin but she has also done lots of other great work.

Ho ho ho….I trust you all had a merry Christmas and hopefully loads of great presents too, maybe infact the perfect present. If you didn’t don’t worry you can dwell on these Christmas ads from UK department store John Lewis for a bit. The amazing papercut lettering was done by illustrator Kate Forrester.

Wrapping up before Christmas with lovely packaging design from Australian MOR cosmetics. I almost screamed with delight when I found the bars of soap in various lovely patterns. MOR actually means mother in Danish (although the meaning behind MOR cosmetics is peacock in Hindi) so here’s a good idea for a prez the next time you want to spoil your mum. I know what my mum’s getting next mother’s day. Damn it, I’ve ruined it now!
Merry Christmas everyone! I’ll be back with more visual snacks on the 28th of December.

If you haven’t already heard of Coldilocks the polar bear from Philadelphia Zoo then it’s about time. It might not sound like the usual Inspiration Lab content but when you pair up a polar bear and a persistent photographer miracles happen. Just look at the wonderful photos below. The series was a self initiated project by Michael S Confer but has gone on to win numerous awards. Although I really hate going to the zoo I am so in love with these photos.
I haven’t been able to find a website for Michael S Confer, but you can read more about the story here.

I’ve been following Jessica Hische on Flickr but have completely forgot to post her until I was sent a tip to go to her website. She does the loveliest lettering and has done a series of daily caps which have a prominent place on my inspiration wall. You can’t help but admire the amount of work and precision that goes into these.

If you’re looking for a last minute Christmas prez for a graphic designer then look no further. I just came across these pillows from Heather Lins Home with lovely eye chart typography print. If you wanna make a theme out of it you can add an Alphabet bag (I have the one with the J).
Buy from Heather Lins Home.

I recently came across the packaging design for Ugly Mug’s coffee. I love the type work and I think the name and identity is brilliant, don’t we all look this ugly pre-caffeinated? The design was done by Indianapolis agency Young & Laramore.
