I’ve fallen madly in love with the studio Helms Workshop. The man behind this new studio is Christian Helms who was also one of the guys behind The Decoder Ring, a wicked studio that I blogged a while back. Christian continues his fantastic style in his new set up and I just LOVE the retro style block type peices. Just have a look at the identity work he did for a hotdog bar in Texas called Frank.

Just have to show you these two type treatments by Chicago based designer Justin Van Genderen. Being a huge Mad Men fan I’m of course a big fan of the one with Don Draper. Speaking of Mad Men, am going to a Mad Men themed Christmas party in a few weeks, isn’t THAT a fantastic idea?! Will pad my bra and go as Joan ;-)

A bit of illustration today, I noticed Fernandos work thinking it might be something new by Sanna Annukka but was glad to see that the rest of his work did differ from this. I like the pieces where bits of photography is incorporated, lovely colours as well!

Well what a day it was yesterday, I was brimming with inspiration when the day was over and I think it might just have been the best Magazine Conference yet. Good job Niels for picking the speakers! So I already showed you a few bits but I just wanna share a few more peices because inspiration just kept coming after lunch too. My faves were definitely Texas Monthly and Cut Magazine (which I am definitely subscribing too!). SO much great work.

Today I’m all giddy with excitement, the reason is that I’m at the annual magazine conference at the Danish School of Media and Journalism (my workplace). The day has started out GREAT and I’m just giving you a quick post while I’m shoving lunch into my mouth. We’ve seen design from Popular Mechanics and Women’s Health and both talks were amazing! Can’t wait to hear more, so gotta run!

On a boring monday morning you need a bit of colour don’t you? And if you need colour no one does it quite like the Brazilians. Just look at Danilo Rodrigues, here’s someone who isn’t afraid of the palet :-)

It’s a glorious sunny friday morning in Copenhagen! Super busy today but just time to share London based illustrator Karolin Schnoor with you guys. I love her work. The way she uses pattern and colour is amazing and the amount of details in each drawing is impressive. Big fan!

I love paper craft and I love typography so naturally I was over the moon when I came across Bianca Chang’s paper letters. I love how immaculately the paper is placed and it’s so obvious that this project is really done with love. Be sure to watch the video with the letter A to see how she does it.

On saturday I went to a mini conference that HK did at the Danish School of Architecture. I think one of the most interesting speakers was Bjørn Ortmann from the small studio Daddy. He showed his graduation project from Saint Martins and it was brilliant. A hand printed book done only in woodblock type. The work that went into this project is amazing. He cut out 80 pieces of wood by hand! Bjørn also showed lots of other great work, some of what is seen below.
