Look at these yummy packaging designs for So…Soap! done by Hong Kong Studio CoDesign (Hong Kong I miss you!!). I love the minimalist clean style for a product like soap, for once it makes sense and is not just a trendy choice. I think the website also works quite well with contrastful type and big images.

I’ve had these two wonderful projects in folders on my desktop for a while and only just realised that they were done by the same studio, New Zealand based Supply. I think it’s really interesting to see two such different solutions for the “same” product from the same studio, that definitely shows visual versatility. Is there such a thing as a cider packaging expert, then these guys are it I guess! ;-)

…and for the beer drinkers I recommend Cervecería Sagrada designed by José Guízar. A shame I don’t drink beer, there are so many cool bottles!

So, everyone’s getting ready for tomorrow and the welcoming of 2012? I bet you’ve all been preparing; finding the perfect dress, buying good food and booze but please remember to drink responsibly around the fireworks…but also remember to drink stuff in pretty bottles! Like these…and I don’t actually know what they are but I’d have a sip for the packaging alone ;-)

If you like packaging then you will love Container, a packaging company based in Australia and China. All their work is very simple and elegant but there’s always just a little something extra.

Depot WPF

I came across this line of packaging for dairy products done by Russian studio Depot WPF. The job just won bronze at the Epica awards and I was amazed by how courageous the chosen style was. As a designer, I think this looks briliant, but I’m wondering if the consumer would go for an organic product with metal fencing on it. It’s a really interesting problem in any case.
