My god what a day! I’m coming to you from my bed after a particularly grueling tooth operation. Am on a diet of soup, ice cream and pain killers, could be worse I guess! So what else can you do but lie in bed and look at pretty things, like the new Marc Atlan website for example. I’ve featured Marc Atlan before but the new and improved website is worth mentioning. Designed by Danish Hello Monday it is a great continuation of the super minimalist Marc Atlan style. If you’re into minimalism it doesn’t get much more minimalist than this, but do stop to appreciate the fine details of the site, like the type animations, the smoothe movement, the loader and so forth. I like!

I’m gonna do a follow up on last friday’s post on vodka bottles. During my research I found so many lovely booze bottles so I figured I might as well do another, this time it’s top of the pops in the gin department.
You needn’t worry, I haven’t developed a drinking habit from teaching unruly youngsters. But in honour of my new students I’ll do a vodka theme today, after all it is friday and I bet they’ll be celebrating their first week here. But guys, please do so in style! So choose from selected approved bottles below…ohh and if you’re not past the legal drinking age I must insist that you leave my blog this instant!
I was recently treated to a bit of chocolate from one of Brooklyn’s finest chocolate makers (perhaps only chocolate maker?!). The chocolate is yummy, but the packaging is just as pleasure inducing if you’re a graphic designer. They all look different, some with lovely feminine flower patterns, others masculine instructions on ties and knots. The lovely shots from the shop are taken by Eric Ryan Anderson (his portfolio is worth checking out too!).

So last post might have been a bit of masculine horsepower so this one is gonna be quite girly. But I did just love the design for Fling Chocolate by Anchalee Chambundabongse, a New York based designer. Don’t you just wanna eat them?

Phew! It’s been a few quiet days here at the lab, I’ve been busy throwing my guts up! Sorry for the graphic details, severe foodpoisening round this end! So haven’t had that much of a vaccation. But I’m back! Today with the lovely smell of man. Isn’t this a great masculine design? Loving it!
It’s gonna be one more Swedish drink today and I just love the name of this one. It comes in two varieties blueberry and “lingon” (red berry, someone Swedish help me out, what is lingon in English?). I just love the simple type on the bottle, no fuss. But immaculate placing and contrast. Yummy!

Took a hop across the waters to Sweden last week and had a lovely day in Malmö eating kanelbullar (traditional Swedish cinnamon rolls) and shopping for home decor stuff. I also managed to find a few Inspiration Lab worthy items. One of them is water from Malmberg. I really love how simple it is but how the colourscale really liven it up. The design is done by Swedish studio, Below the Clouds, who has also done lots of other interesting stuff.

I just came across hair care series No 4. I love the clean packaging and I’m also quite keen on the modular photos (from their website). Would look GREAT in my bathroom! I think the design was an in house job, at least it says Bureau Number 4 where I’ve seen it mentioned.

Well I am here melting away in the office one more week before a well deserved holiday. Seriously, all I wanna do in this heat is dive in to a pool and eat ice cream. Since I don’t know anyone with a pool I will just have to do lots of the last mentioned. So in my search for the perfect ice cream I came across Ticilo, I haven’t actually tasted it, and I’m not sure if it’s a self initiated project but pretty it is!
