The work by super talent photographer Craig McDean is SO hot! The photos are just always full of power and energy but it comes out in very different ways. Sometimes it’s colour and movement. Sometimes it’s the mere look or attitude that he pulls out of the model. Either way it’s just always freakin’ amazing!

I came across the portrait below with the animal scull by UK born photographer Emily Hope and fell straight in love with it. It is really raw but at the same time just so amazingly beautiful. It was a treat to look through the rest of her work too. I think her work has a lot of energy and sex appeal (the first shot that greets you on the frontpage kinda says a lot!) and without just being cliched pretty shots. Would love to have her do my portrait.

Sweet Meat by

OK it’s friday so I can do a weird post today right? How about a bit of meat dessert anyone? I really love this project because I think it’s so interesting to see how we react to contrast in content and execution and I think this is a brilliant example. Don’t you feel aesthetically fascinated and disgusted at the same time? And yes, it is real meat. The project was done by German Jasmin Schuller who calls what she does “visual entertainment”, how good does that look on a business card?!?! Nice!!!

Do you know the work by photographer Nadav Kander? You’ve probaly seen some of it without knowing, I know I have. Like that famous photo of David Lynch. I just love his work because I think he is so versatile. He does the most amazing portraits but also haunting landscapes and both in a totally confident style that is very distinct. I think it’s quite admirable when someone can do something so far apart and both with excellence.

Just a few more of my iPhone shots from beautiful Hong Kong. I don’t know how to operate a proper camera but with scenes like these all around you just HAVE to take pictures.

Like I told you, I’m spending a bit of time in Hong Kong and while I am no wizz with a camera I do enjoy snapping the odd shots with my iPhone. Stuff that I find beautiful but not necessarily pretty if you know what I mean. Thought I might share a few of those shots with you. Hope you’re having a great summer no matter where you are :-)

I guess the naked body is the oldest motif in the book but here’s ‘naked’ in a way you haven’t seen it before I think. Check out artist Spencer Tunick’s installations. These are AMAZING! It’s kinda like he’s painting and the strokes are naked people.

WOW! Check out the work by photographer Vanina Sorrenti. It is the PERFECT balance between something quite raw and yet super pretty. I just love the vibe in these shots, the colours are quite rich but not vibrant and the models are not glammed up. I think it creates such a new luscious look.

See more on the agent’s website (really annoying scrolling action though!).

Ohhh I’ve been a busy bee! Just finnished up the exams of the year and now I need to get to the bottom of the huge piles on my table. Am I the only one!?!? But here’s a little bit more photography for you guys because I fell in live with a series by Dutch photographer Rineke Dijkstra. I just love the shots on the beach because they seam so honestbut at the same time highly aesthetic. Really wish I had seen these in a gallery, they look amazing hanging there in huge frames in a clean room.

Have not been able to find a website (whaaat?!?!) but you can see more of her work at the Marian Goodman Gallery.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Inspiration can be found in even the most unexpected places! Would you believe that mugshots could be beautiful? Well just look at these vintage ones I came across over at Twisted Sifter. How amazing is that?! Don’t you just start imagining stories about these guys? Some of them look right MENTAL!

See the rest here.
