HEEEELLLLOOOOOO?!?!?!?!?!!? I think I might be writing into a big silent orbit now, because it’s been so quiet here for way too long. Longest time I’ve ever neglected you guys. Could hardly remember the password to my WordPress. But I have an excuse (yes, yes excuses, excuses!) I BROKE MY ARM! I now have a big titanium thingy in my arm and a big suicide like scar on my wrist. It’s nasty! I’ve wanted a tattoo for a long time and my friends think I should make wonderfully pretty lettering around the scar saying “It’s not what you think”….hmmmm…not quite sure about that!
But I need to get back into the saddle and get blogging again so here’s Luke Lucas. Doesn’t his name sound like a superhero? I love it! He does amazingly crafted lettering which is my fave thing in the world.

There is something about New York based artist Chris Buzelli that really fascinates me. If you were to look quickly past them you might think they were illustrations for childrensbook in a bright coloured soft style. But they are NOT! I just LOVE the juxtaposition between the style and content. And his painting skills are just really awesome!

Ohh how I LOVE these illustrations by Tom Dilly Littleson, they are so EVIL!!!!! The contrast between the super detailed and controlled pencil illustration and the use of the red colour is just SO effectful. AWESOME!

I am loving the work of Bäst, a Brooklyn based artist who does various street art and exhibits. Once again I would love to go to Lazarides gallery in London and see his show. They just ALWAYS show the coolest stuff.

I was browsing through some magazines I got while in Berlin and came across the most extravagant fashion accessory shoot I ever saw in V magazine. This is MINDBLOWING!! I would have loved to hear how this idea came about and how the client was convinced that jumping horses, high heeled boots and bags was the right match, but my GOD it is! WOW!

I really admire the type work and aesthetics by Copenhagen/New York based studio NR2154. They are the guys behind the initial design for LOVE magazine (which has a FAB masthead) and I also really like their work with Rika. I think both are original takes on approaching the identity for a magazine treating the masthead etc. as something more than just stuff to stick on the cover.
