I don’t think “WOW! THAT’S SOMETHING NEW” very often but I did when I saw the work of Jinyoung Shin aka. Dadaly. I have never seen anything like this before. Her work is horrormovies meet Manga meet anorexic decaying bodies. Although it sounds pretty gross it’s strangely intriguing.

Catalina Estrada is an exciting illustrator from Columbia now based in Barcelona. Her style is somewhere between Klaus Haapaniemi and Sanna Annukka and that is a great place! At the same time there is the colours and the energy from Latin-America which is unmistakable. Last winter she co-operated with Paul Smith for a collection released in Japan.

Klaus Haapaniemi is an illustrator from my homeland Finland. His style is nuts but very admirable. The amount of detail that goes into his work is truely amazing. His list of clients include Clements Ribeiro, Cacharel, Marimekko and Levis. He has even made a serious of ceramics for Iittala (blue one with an owl).
His own site is under construction (http://www.klaush.com) but you can find him at Big Active where there’s also lots of other great things to see.
