I came across a series of covers for Australian Vogue today celebrating their 50 year anniversary. I think it’s quite a bold statement not to have a photo on the cover but instead have four diffeernt illustrations of Cate Blanchett done by illustrator David Downton. I think it’s retro and modern at the same time and therefore a wonderful reference to the anniversary.

If you love editorial design as much as I do you might already know Fabien Baron the founder of Baron & Baron. If you don’t it’s about time as he is definitely a heavy weight champion in that field. Fabien has spread his magic over numerous magazines like French and Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and Arena Homme. His signature contrastful beauty and fashion style sure started a trend.
Baron & Baron also do numerous other design disciplines among them packaging design for fragrances and cosmetics and they do that with as great ease as the editorial design.
