Yesterday I spent a lovely evening at Barnes & Nobles (another of my designer vices). I do love to just walk around and look at bookcovers, and I thought, why not make a post out it if. So here’s a load of what I found.

First a bit of retro…

I found this interesting series of very graphic Albert Camus books too, they looked great lined up, their backs forming a great pattern…

Last but not least a few examples of great ambience in the visual communication.

Did you see the Flickr group for fake book covers from the fictitious books of the mysterious author in The Mayor’s Tongue?

These are lovely separately and also to see all together in this way. I’m working on a novel (a satirical supernatural narrative) and posting the chapters on my blog, and looking at beautiful dust jackets such as these makes me hopeful and inspired my book VERA might someday see the light of day (or the bookstore). Thank you!

Keep up the great work!
