I love infographics so when I came across Infojocks I was thrilled. These guys (in their own words) make sense of sports statistics and for a complete sport illiterate like myself that’s a good thing. There isn’t much on their website yet but I think these guys are worth keeping an eye on. For now, enjoy this chart on taxonomy of team names.
You can also buy it as a poster from their website: http://www.infojocks.com
As you’ve probably noticed by now I do love book covers, well designed book covers that is! That is why I love UK designer David Pearson, I came across his typographic covers recently and I absolutely adore them.

Just have to show you one more winner from ED Awards which is done by Danish agency Designbolaget. They did such a lovely line of packaging Moshi Moshi Mind. I really love the simple canisters and pattern.

If you don’t already know the ED Awards then you should definitely check it out and send in your work next time. It is a really good design competition with jury members from all the good design magazines. The annual ED Awards Festival takes place in may but you can also check out last year’s winners.
One of them is Swiss designer Andreas Caminada who won gold in the packaging category for these yummy condiment jars.

I came across Berlin based Henrik Abrahams yesterday and I really like his illustrations. They’re somehow a mix between classic fashion illustrations and digital collage, and that’s a very succesful mix. I love his use of colour and and little doodles as texture.

Check out Norwegian designstudio Heydays. They’ve done lots of cool identity work and their website is quite cool too. Be sure to check out their own identity project as well. It’s really simple but with good use of tape and bubblewrap envelopes.

With a really busy week don’t you just crave a good cup of coffee? And wouldn’t it be nice if the cups looked nice too? Then have a look at I am Boey’s selection of coffeecups. Yes, he draws on cups, that’s what he does. I think a cool coffee shop would be wise to hire him for a line of custom cups. After all, he knows the media!

Mmmmmm there’s a new font from House Industries and I love it! It’s called Eames Century Modern and it’s definitely a good start naming it after two of my fave designers of all times, Ray and Charles Eames who did the most fantastic furniture. I still dream of having the lounge chair in white leather. For now I’ll have to manage with the font which is MUCH cheaper and it’s lovely too. Middle weights look a lot like Clarendon but it’s a lot more usable because of all the different weights.
Check it out here.

Bored out of my mind, at home, in bed, coughing up my lungs. So what can you do? SURF! That’s how I came across illustrator Matthew Lyons from the UK. At only 21 I think his work is really convincing and I love the kinda 50’s style intro sequence look a lot of his work has.

Laying low having the flu! Is getting so fed up with all the hot drinks but I did stumble upon tea company Samova in the process. This stuff I’d drink! The type work on the refil bags is really great and the delicate details on the boxes work really well too.
Visit Samova.
