At the beginning of 2009 Karl Lagerfeld predicted that BLING was dead. The financial crisis made way to a new sense of style that Mr. Lagerfeld called “The New Modesty”. I think he was absolutely right then in foreseeing that the crisis would have impact on the way we dress and style over all. So maybe we can take one of the latest trends as a sign of the crisis coming to an end? Either way, there seams to be a trend in bling-ing up perfumes at the mo. Am I the only one who thinks the Michalsky and the Marc Jacobs scents look very much alike? A coincidence?
I came across this poster by Canadian design studio Working Format. It reminds me a little of Peter Bil’ak’s font History which I blogged last year but I like how the letter shapes are more condensed.

While collecting inspiration for a bit of a needle and thread project myself, I came across Ed Bing Lee. His series called Delectable and Picnic are just so great and well executed and the theme of fastfood is super funny in a media like this.

It’s a snowy day in Copenhagen and I’m freeeeezing, big knitted sweater day! So I need a bit of colour and life to liven me up, coffee helps too. So here’s Stone and Spear. I love the naive characters, the choppy collagestyle and the great colours.

Look at this new line of skincare products isn’t it beautiful? Totally clean and no fuss. I’m guessing it’s for men judging by the quite masculine design but it doesn’t actually say anywhere. Unisex perhaps. In Danish Leif is a real lad name so I’m not quite sure a posh line of products like these would do so well, but beautiful they certainly are!

BIG smile on my face today because I’ve just found TUSH, a German lifestyle magazine focusing mainly on aesthetics and fashion. It’s a great magazine and I love their photo and editorial style. I’m gonna go straight to the newsstand and INSIST that he orders it for me. YIPEEE!!! Also quite good and simple website with photo from each edition working as a background image.

On friday I went to a type conference and was introduced to French studio M/M. I love getting to know new studios so I went straight home and looked up M/M and they’re really great. I am especially fond of their alphabet don’t with cut outs from fashion shoots.

If you love Clarendon as much as me then you’ll be so unhappy that the 2011 Cats Let Nothing Darken Their Roar calendar is already sold out. But you can enjoy these pictures nevertheless.

I love paper projects and I love infographics so of course I was thrilled when I found the book project Dear Gretchen by US designer Gretchen Nash. The charts show loads of different info on (possibly) every letter she has ever recieved. I just love the outcome!

I recently came across identity work by German studio KW Neun. They did a job for Brechtfestival Augsburg which won them heaps of awards and it’s no wonder why. Their work is truely stunning and works all the way through different media. Even the website (which sadly often seam to be last in line for creative angel dust) is top notch!
