I’ve been quite fond of illustrator Raymond Biesinger ever since I saw his work in Wired (the magazine) a while back. I love the amount of details in his work and I also love the use of texture instead of it being clean vectorshapes.

While searching for something else I came across Christiana Couceiro, an illustrator from Portugal. Her collages are so carefully composed and have gone straight into my composition examples folder to use in my classes. Great work with colour and the contrast between new and old.

I’m sure you’ve recently seen the poster for the much talked about Joaquin Phoenix movie “I’m still here” the poster is done by Kellerhouse (a.k.a.Neil Kellerhouse) an LA based studio. I like the typework which I think is an original take on a style that we’ve seen for a looooong time in fashion printwork. Kellerhouse has also done lots of other great work, I just LOVE the “Antichrist” posters (even though I have miced feelings about the movie) the weird layering and the harsh yet fragile handwriting is fab.

Jasper White vs. Ettore Guatelli

I’ve been intrigued by the Ettore Guatelli museum in Italy for a while now, ever since I found the photos of the carefully collected compositions of things from rural culture. Then today I came across a series called “Sheds” by photographer Jasper White and thought the two very different projects (yet with the same subject) just HAD to be shown together. Tools CAN be beautiful!

See more by Jasper White.

Dana Tanamachi

Dana Tanamachi is a Brooklym based designer that I recently came across. She is currently working at Louise Fili (one of my all time faves) but she also does her own stuff on the side. Among these are her chalk letterings on walls all over town. I just love them but it’s such a shame that chalk disappears quickly over time.

Bloomberg Businessweek mag

While at the airport on Friday, going for a little weekend getaway, I rediscovered just how cool the magazine Bloomberg Businessweek can be. I love how it’s playful and vibrant and not just all corporate colours (icy cold blue) and dull charts. I wish we had more like this in Denmark.

Sadly, it doesn’t seam like they’ve taken their own meds online, but anyway, you can visit them at: http://www.businessweek.com/

Merry Christmas from My Animal Farm

My two kick ass colleagues Kat and Kej did a Christmas greeting project called “Little Baby Jesus Project“. The project is about alternative nativity scenes and they asked a handful of people to make their version to get the project rolling. You can see my contribution below, the TRUE story! ;-) So now it’s time for all of you to find that Christmas spirit and make your own nativity scene for the project.
