WOW! Check out the work by photographer Vanina Sorrenti. It is the PERFECT balance between something quite raw and yet super pretty. I just love the vibe in these shots, the colours are quite rich but not vibrant and the models are not glammed up. I think it creates such a new luscious look.
See more on the agent’s website (really annoying scrolling action though!).

I do have such a softspot for pretty watercolours like these ones by Australian Elisa Mazzone. It is a skill that I have never learned myself, and probably never will, so I’m quite in awe. I’m not exactly a girly girl but sometimes pastels are just nice ;-)

I’m loving the work by UK artist group Prefab 77. There’s an obvious link to old punky Sexpistols posters but I love how it’s a lot more detailed and taken into a contemporary style. It’s kinda Sexpistols meets Shepard Fairey…maybe? Wicked stuff!

Ohhh I’ve been a busy bee! Just finnished up the exams of the year and now I need to get to the bottom of the huge piles on my table. Am I the only one!?!? But here’s a little bit more photography for you guys because I fell in live with a series by Dutch photographer Rineke Dijkstra. I just love the shots on the beach because they seam so honestbut at the same time highly aesthetic. Really wish I had seen these in a gallery, they look amazing hanging there in huge frames in a clean room.
Have not been able to find a website (whaaat?!?!) but you can see more of her work at the Marian Goodman Gallery.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Inspiration can be found in even the most unexpected places! Would you believe that mugshots could be beautiful? Well just look at these vintage ones I came across over at Twisted Sifter. How amazing is that?! Don’t you just start imagining stories about these guys? Some of them look right MENTAL!

So, did you hear the news that Sagmeister joined forces with Jessica Walsh to form Sagmeister & Walsh? If not go check out the naked pic of the two that they did for the press release. Sure way to get that message across :-D If you don’t know the work of Jessica Walsh you should go check out her website. It’s such an inspiring mixture of work from a really ballsy girl…ehm, sorry for the choice of words…with the naked picture and all…but she rocks! ;-)

Ohh how I love the wonderfully pretty and feminine world of Deanne Cheuk. I noticed her embroidered cover for Gestalten and of course I was sold. I also love the typework that she has done on numerous editorial openers. Especially the one using Jonathan Barnbrook’s font Tourette which I ADORE!

Look at this visual identity by London based Bibliothèque for a hairsalon called Flint. Totally love the contrast between the old detailed illustrations paired with minimalist Swiss style type.
