I’m gonna have to do another play-with-food-friday-post cause I wanna show you this series by American photographer Christopher Boffoli called “Big Appetite”. I just love how these are brilliant compositions and little colourful worlds at the same time. Big smile on face inducer!

You should browse by Norwegian studio Werksemd and have a look. I must admit that their scrolly website pisses me off a little bit (below are screenshots, was the only way I could grab it) but I’m willing to cut them some slack cause the work on there is really very interesting. It’s very raw and pretty at the same time and I like that contrast.

I’m quite fascinated with these photos by German Ralf Brueck. It’s kind of an old technique somehow, inspired by glitched files I guess. But I think these are super nice examples of it.

Check out this elastic font by young UK designer Jenny Kyvik Hutchens. I really love the shape of the letters and how the material (the rubber bands) has influenced the way it looks.

The work by super talent photographer Craig McDean is SO hot! The photos are just always full of power and energy but it comes out in very different ways. Sometimes it’s colour and movement. Sometimes it’s the mere look or attitude that he pulls out of the model. Either way it’s just always freakin’ amazing!

It’s not often that I post a Thai illustrator here on the Inspiration Lab (because I don’t really know any) but I think that Lee Kanin’s work is pretty damn fab so I wanna pay some credit (+ I want some good BKK tips if I ever go back there ;-)). Really nice work!

OMG! I was gobsmacked when I came across German illustrator Olaf Hajek. His technique totally amazes me! I can’t even quite figure our how this is done, or perhaps what mixture of techniques. Then again, it doesn’t really matter at all since I just instinctively freakin’ love it! Look at the colours and textures and contrast in level of details. Wow WOW W-O-W!!! Super powerful!!

Does an art exhibit celebrating Malaysian fruit sound a little odd to you? Well just take a look at these three posters and be enlightened. It’s durian, coconut and pineapple. How cool is that? I love how something that simple is made to look so excellent while in it’s execution still communicating the subject. FAB!

I came across the portrait below with the animal scull by UK born photographer Emily Hope and fell straight in love with it. It is really raw but at the same time just so amazingly beautiful. It was a treat to look through the rest of her work too. I think her work has a lot of energy and sex appeal (the first shot that greets you on the frontpage kinda says a lot!) and without just being cliched pretty shots. Would love to have her do my portrait.

Check out the visual experiments by Christian Zander aka. Emperor of Antarctica aka. House & Bike. I really just love the colours and textures on these. They’re so vibrant and rich.
