Check out the amazingly detailed and wonderfully colourful illustrations by The Bubble Process (love the name – fits their style perfectly!). The patience and amount of work that must go into these is fascinating to me.

It is safe to say that I am definitely NOT a fan of jazz. I know that it’s a bratty attitude to say that I don’t like an entire genre but it just really stresses me out. What I do like about jazz though is the graphic design that often accompanies it. Like the work by Atelier Martino & Jaña. They’ve done so much amazing work over the years for jazz clients and there’s super nice type and publication design.

I am always fascinated when I see someone who has perfected one thing and do ONLY that. It just isn’t possible in Denmark to have a niche competence in that way because the market is too small. I kinda envy that sometimes. Like Zena Holloway, she does amazing underwater shots and does it really well.

I’ve posted Friends of Type before but I’m gonna post them again cause the cool stuff just keeps on coming. LOVE these guys! The diversity is awesome but these days I’m really loving their gritty handlettering. So full of life!

I LOVE the book as media and when I see someone who makes it something special it makes me so happy. I shared Sara de Bondt’s design for Jonathan Safran Foer’s special edition before but you should check out Visual Editions the publisher behind it. They do books with visual writing, books that aren’t just books, but that has conceptual meaning in how they look. Visual Editions started a Flickr account where there are also some great examples of other people’s work (second example below). Would love to see more of this!

I’m gonna sound grumpy now, but I think there should be a law against Christmas decorations before 1st of December. I just saw the first load in the shops and Christmas isn’t exactly on our doorstep. Jesus! So I guess blogging this amazing series called Christmas in America by photographer Jesse Rieser is only fitting. Let’s get into the freakin’ Holiday Spirit!

I met the wonderful and talented Evelin Kasikov when she spoke at CPH Typo where I also did a talk about my exhibit. I had been an admirer of her’s for quite a while so when she asked for a photo of me for her portrait series I was over the moon! How many people can say they have a stitched portrait of themselves done by someone fab? Well, twelve to be exact! Check it out. Do you recognize me?

German illustrator Julia Pfaller draws up some pretty interesting man types. I wonder if she’s single too ;-)

Here’s another illustrator whose drawing style makes me so jealous. I love that a lot of it is quite naturalistic but it has its’ little faults and quirks. The rough shading of a worn pen also works wonders in building a bit of contrast and texture ang with the colour overlays.
