I’m not a big cheese fan, but I am a fan of calligraphy and handlettering. That’s why I was really happy to find these ads for Wisconsin Cheese by Shine (the lettering was done by Holly Dickens). They’re quite classic but really well-executed so even if the cheese is smelly I like it!

If you haven’t already sent out your Christmas cards then it is probably too late to learn how to do them in calligraphy. But you can let yourself get inspired by Lila at Daily Calligraphy who posts a sample of her work every day. There’s some great samples to be found!

Even though I am a total romantic I don’t think I’ll ever get married. 1) Because it would mean that my parents had to co-exist in the same room for more than 5 mins. 2) Because I will never be as good a calligrapher as Betsy Dunlap and would therefore have crap invites ;-)
I featured Betsy as one of my very first posts here on Inspiration Lab, but she has done so much great work since (even a few tattoos!) so I think it’s time to have another look. I LOVE her lively style!

It’s been a super busy week of exams and I’m starting to look forward to summer break. It’s been so busy that I forgot to share on of my fave talks at TYPO with you. I was so lucky to catch Niels Shoe Meulman’s talk about his new book Calligraffiti which is definitely worth picking up. I love his merge between calligraphy and graffiti, it’s best of two worlds. Be sure to check him out in action in the video bellow.

Let’s end the week with something rude. Alison is a hand lettering artist and I just love this piece promoting herself. Yes, everything does indeed look nicer handlettered!

Here are some beautiful samples from calligraphy artist Betsy Dunlap. I love her work, it has a charming looseness about it and a very personal touch.
