I blogged Timothy Goodman’s work for Ace Hotel AGES ago but it’s time give the man a bit of credit again because he has done AMAZING work since. He did a great installation at the Airbnb headquaters (great use of rough materials) but what I love even more is two personal projects that he did alongside Jessica Walsh (who, by the way, is also AWESOME!). You may have heard of their experiment to date each other for 40 days and now their dating experiment has become a book that that you can get your hands on in about a months and a half. It’s looking really nice from here. Just have a look at the video below. I’m also just loving the Quotes on Shit project. It’s so simple, and yet it just makes me smile every time I see one of those handlettered quotes on a painted figure. Thanks for brightening my day to both of you :-)

When I came across Serbian designer Peter Gregson I was overjoyed. I have seen so much of his work without knowing who did it and it’s always so nice to be able put a name on great work. I really love his handletterings and I think it’s so great how he approaches very different design diciplines, like packaging and editorial, with the same courage.

Here’s one for the boys! If you didn’t already run to the newsstand in July last year then I’m afraid it’s too late to get a copy of the Esquire issue with a practically naked Bar Rafaeli on the cover. I am of course doing this post PURELY for the typography which was done by James Victoire. I bet he enjoyed working on this kind of canvas! There was also done a beautiful series of photos from the covershoot by James White.

I came across Sarah Gardner recently on Flickr on a search for good handlettering. I do love these kind of small compositions in handlettered type. They are so personal and quirky and I really admire the craft behind this kind of illustrative typography.

Linzie Hunter is an illustrator and handlettering artist from London. Her work is pretty girly but I have been in love it ever since I found her project Spam One-liners, where she has handlettered all the subject of her spammails. Needless to say they’re a lot of fun!
I recently found Nick Deakin’s typedrawings and I think they are such a wonderful example of where illustration and type meet. LOVE them!

Nate Williams does great illustrations and handlettering you can even buy screenprinted copies of his work.
