Took a hop across the waters to Sweden last week and had a lovely day in Malmö eating kanelbullar (traditional Swedish cinnamon rolls) and shopping for home decor stuff. I also managed to find a few Inspiration Lab worthy items. One of them is water from Malmberg. I really love how simple it is but how the colourscale really liven it up. The design is done by Swedish studio, Below the Clouds, who has also done lots of other interesting stuff.

Super busy week as I am clearing my table and getting ready to take off to Japan tomorrow. I’m like a child before Christmas! I just can’t wait and it will be a welcomed break.
I’ve been a busy bee working ahead so you won’t be missing your daily visual snack and there’s even a special feature for next week. I’ll also be sure to come back with lots of great stuff from Japan. Until then, here’s a little warm up with Japanese artist Shinichi Maruyama. He does wonderful photos in super high speed of ink and water mixing. I just love the full frame of him doing it.

Sorry for the lack of input yesterday, was on a minibreak to visit my sister in Luxembourg, came back with lots of good stuff though, like this new Evian bottle designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. Every year Evian does a special edition bottle and it’s always gorgeous, remember the one from last year by Christian Lacroix (below, below)? Unfortunately I have not been able to find very good pictures of the bottle, there are such lovely crystal details on it which doesn’t really show, even on Evian’s own press shots, but if you visit Evian you get a little film which sets the mood.

Jesse Kirsch is a great graphic designer, there isn’t that much work to see on the website but Jesse has done some great packaging.
I have not been able to locate the packaging designer of this product, who knows, might be Fred. This bottle is actually beautiful, which is a bit of a challenge for a waterbottle. It’s flat (like a boozebottle), frosted and very VERY clean and simple. Great design, won lots of awards.
